Perseverance

If you research successful entrepreneurs, and if you hear them answer the question “What sets apart successful entrepreneurs from those that are unsuccessful?” the most common answer you will find will be perseverance.

Success is not something that people are born with, or something people are destined for.  Talent is cheaper than table salt. There is nothing more common than unfulfilled talent.  If success was determined by talent alone then success would be common.  But the truth is success is hard to come by.

To be a successful person in today’s world is to be an anomaly.  If you want to be an anomaly that means you have to act like an anomaly, and the best way to do that is to work hard and persevere.  Most people do not have the perseverance needed to get through obstacles and challenges, to overcome mental barriers.

On your path to success you will have a great many obstacles.  And the obstacles will seem to insurmountable.  You will be shaken to your core.  You will be very, very tempted to give up.  But those who succeed are those who persevere throughout their journey, who don’t let fear or doubt dissuade them from their commitments.

You must learn to rest, not give up.

Think strategically to overcome whatever is holding you back. Try new things if necessary, but never compromise your goal or your dream. The desire to give up will always be strongest just before you make your biggest breakthrough.  I have noticed this to be true in my own life; when the urge to give up is greatest I know I am closer than ever to achieving my desired result. Too many people have given up just before their moment of victory.

Surround yourself with positive people.  Feed your mind with positive content. Don’t give up. You can overcome.
